Community Reintegration: Assists individuals, ages 18 to 59 and living in nursing homes, to move back into the community and live independently. Deaf Services: Assists the Deaf and Hard of Hearing with independent living issues by providing advocacy, interpreting, interpreter training, and assistive devices. Family Advocacy: Provides supports and services to parents of students with disabilities. Services include transition, preparation for IEPs, and support groups. Home Services: Empowers consumers who want to recruit and manage their own Personal Assistants (PA). Home Services also provides a referral list of available PA's and an orientation for any individual interested in working as a PA. Independent Living: Assists consumers through referrals to community services, in locating accessible housing and achieving independent living skills. Sail's Homeownership Coalition for People with Disabilities Program assists in identifying barriers in homeownership and strives to eliminate them.
Disability Awareness: Offers awareness and sensitivity training to schools, businesses, and other organizations. |
